Calvert Research and Management scores the 1,000 largest publicly traded companies by market value for five key constituencies: shareholders, employees, customers, community, and the planet. To compile the most recent annual list, the fifth, more than 250 ESG performance indicators were evaluated. Owens Corning debuted on the 2021 list at #27.

In 2021, Owens Corning placed #15 overall and earned the top spot for the Building Materials Industry Group. The ranking is based on publicly disclosed data spanning 24 key performance indicators for corporate environment, social, and governance (ESG) results. Based on the same data, the company also earned a place on the 2021 Clean200 list (published by Corporate Knights in partnership with As You Sow), which recognizes the world’s most significant publicly traded firms according to the size of clean revenue from products and services that provide solutions for the planet and define the clean energy future.

Owens Corning placed #24 on Newsweek magazine’s America's Most Responsible Companies 2023 list. Companies were selected based on publicly available key performance indicators derived from CSR and Sustainability reports. KPIs focused on company performance in the areas of environment, social, and corporate governance. Additionally, an independent survey was conducted to evaluate companies' reputation by asking U.S. citizens about their perception of company activities related to corporate social responsibility. The list recognizes the top 500 most responsible companies in the United States, spanning 14 industries

In 2023, Owens Corning earned Gold Class distinction in the Sustainability Yearbook from S&P Global. Gold Class is the organization’s highest honor for excellence in sustainability performance, a distinction Owens Corning has earned for nine consecutive years. With its score of 88/100, Owens Corning earned a Top 1% S&P Global ESG Score designation, the only company in the Building products category to do so. S&P Global is a leading provider of credit ratings, benchmarks and analytics in the global capital and commodity markets.

The yearbook looks at performance across such factors as volunteerism, energy and emissions reduction, production efficiency, customer and supplier collaboration, and talent development.

Owens Corning’s rating of 15.2 placed it in the “low risk” category and represents one of the lowest scores among the 134 companies in the Building products industry group in this year’s list of top-rated ESG companies. The Sustainalytics ESG Risk Ratings measure a company’s exposure to industry-specific material ESG risks and how well a company is managing those risks.

Owens Corning earned a place on CDP’s 2023 Water Security A List for its leadership in environmental transparency on water security. A detailed and independent methodology is used by CDP to assess these companies, allocating a score of A to D- based on the comprehensiveness of disclosure, awareness and management of environmental risks and demonstration of best practices associated with environmental leadership, such as setting ambitious and meaningful targets.

In 2017, three types of Owens Corning commercial and residential insulation were independently certified as made with renewable energy. These products are the first ever to meet the requirements of SCS Global Services’ certification protocol to validate that the electricity used to make them is 100% renewable, which, in turn, reduces their carbon footprint. Owens Corning now offers 14 products with this certification.

National Top 100 – Earning #24 ranking on the U.S. Environmental protection Agency’s (EPA) National Top 100 List of the largest green power users from the Green Power Partnership. The company is also #17 on the list of Green Power Partners from the Fortune 500®.

Owens Corning received asthma & allergy friendly®certification for its PureSafety™high-performance insulation – the building products industry’s first product to earn the asthma & allergyfriendly®Certification from the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA). PureSafety™insulation has up to 65% less dust than comparable insulation and is mold and mildew resistant.

For the eighth consecutive year, Owens Corning was named one of the best places to work in information technology by Insider pro and IDG's Computerworld. The ranking is based on such factors as benefits, diversity, career development, training, retention, and the results of an employee survey. Owens Corning received the No. 1 spot among the top 100 large organizations for 2021. In 2020, Owens Corning ranked No. 2 on the list, and in 2019, Owens Corning was No. 1.

Owens Corning ranked 131 overall on the Forbes list of America's Best Large Employers for 2021 and #6 in the manufacturing industry category. Forbes, in partnership with Statista, surveyed more than 30,000 workers at corporations, nonprofits, universities, and government agencies with 5,000 or more employees. The survey asked people about the likelihood of recommending their employer to others, as well as how they felt about other employers in their industry.

Owens Corning received the highest honor of the National Safety Council in 2014, the Green Cross for Safety medal. NSC presents the award annually to an organization with outstanding safety performance and a commitment to improving the quality of life in the communities where its employees work and live.

Several Thermafiber® mineral wool insulation products and their supporting design and installation services earned SAFETY Act Designation from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Use of these products and services will provide building professionals with liability protection in the unfortunate event of an act of terrorism on their structure.

The 2023 American Opportunity Index recognized Owens Corning as a Top 100 Employer. This is a ranking of Fortune 500 companies and how well they maximize internal talent to drive business performance and individual employee growth. The index assesses companies based on five measures: pay, hiring, parity, culture, and promotion. Owens Corning ranked in the top 25% overall, and received the highest score possible in the areas of pay and culture.

As of 2024, Owens Corning has been recognized as a Fortune® 500 company for 71 consecutive years, since the inception of the list.

Owens Corning has made the list since its inaugural year in 2017, and ranked #41 in 2024. The ranking, developed by the Drucker Institute, measures corporate effectiveness by examining performance in five areas: customer satisfaction, employee engagement and development, innovation, social responsibility, and financial strength. Owens Corning ranked fourth overall in customer satisfaction and 10^th in social responsibility in 2024.

In 2022, the Owens Corning Insulation business was named a National Preferred Partner by David Weekley Homes in its 18th annual survey. This marked the 10th consecutive year Owens Corning Insulation has been recognized by the privately-held U.S. homebuilder for world-class excellence in quality and customer service. Owens Corning ranked among the top 12 manufacturers to earn the National Preferred Partner status from a total of 138 companies evaluated.

Owens Corning was recognized by Lowe’s Companieswith its 2022 Sustainability Award for its commitment to reducing its environmental impact and building a sustainable future through material innovation. In addition, Lowe’s named Owens Corning as a 2022 Innovation partner of the year in the building products category.
