THERMAFIBER® SPIRAL ANCHORS

Thermafiber® Spiral Anchors are designed for easy attachment of the FireSpan® mullion covers to the FireSpan® sprandrel insulation panel. These spiral-shaped insulation anchors are a versatile component that can be used to mechanically fasten insulation in various applications. The twisting design of these spiral anchors allows them to hold mullion covers, protective components that cover and protect vertical aluminum curtain wall framework to help prevent it from prematurely melting and support the Perimeter Fire Containment system for a longer period of time.

Applications

Thermafiber® Spiral Anchors are a versatile insulation anchor solution for securing mineral wool in curtain wall and perimeter fire containment assemblies. Commonly used to attach mullion covers and hold insulation layers in place, these insulation board anchors are also a critical component in UL®-listed fire-rated wall systems, helping protect structural framing and maintain the integrity of life safety systems during fire exposure. Mullion covers are typically secured with spiral anchors every 12 inches on center, extending from the top and bottom of the safing insulation to help protect the vertical framing.
