QUIETR® DUCT BOARD | HVAC Fiberglass Duct Board | Owens Corning Insulation Skip to Main Content

Owens Corning QuietR Duct Board is a rigid, resin-bonded fibrous glass board that may be used to fabricate components for indoor commercial and residential duct systems. This duct board serves as both duct and insulation for HVAC air distribution systems.

Features of Fiberglass Duct Board:

  • Absorbs and reduces noise from air movement and system vibration
  • Delivers consistent thermal R-value performance
  • Resists mold and bacteria growth with an EPA-registered biocide
  • Forms a single-component duct system with integrated facing
  • Lightweight for easier handling and transport
  • Helps reduce air leakage for improved efficiency

Performance Attributes

QuietR® Duct Board offers strong overall performance across key areas. This HVAC fiberglass duct board helps absorb sound and reduce noise from airflow, vibration, and system operation. It provides consistent thermal performance to help maintain air temperature through the duct system.

Designed with a durable facing and resilient structure, it supports long-lasting durability in HVAC applications. As a duct insulation board, it also helps limit air leakage and supports efficient HVAC system operation. Contractors can cut and shape these rigid fiberglass duct boards into different pieces, such as straight sections, elbows, tees, or offsets, to form HVAC duct systems. These pieces are lightweight, easy to assemble, and can even be fabricated right at the job site.

  1. The surface burning characteristics of these products have been determined in accordance with UL 723/ULC S102. This standard should be used to measure and describe the properties of materials, products or assemblies in response to heat and flame under controlled laboratory conditions and should not be used to describe or appraise the fire hazard or fire risk of materials, products or assemblies under actual fire conditions. However, results of this test may be used as elements of a fire risk assessment which takes into account all of the factors which are pertinent to an assessment of the fire hazard of a particular end use. Values are reported to the nearest 5 rating.

Applications

QuietR® Duct Board is used as air ducts for heating and cooling systems in homes and commercial buildings. This HVAC duct board works safely within normal HVAC conditions with moderate air pressure, temperatures, and airflow speeds. It is used to help keep the air at the right temperature as it moves through air distribution systems.

This rigid duct board product can be used alongside other Owens Corning HVAC insulation products to support complete air distribution systems. In residential systems, it works with products such as insulated flex duct and blown-in insulation to help support overall system performance.
