Thermafiber® Impasse® 2.0 Insulation Hangers and Locking Washers are engineered for use with the Thermafiber® Impasse® Zero Spandrel System, delivering advanced insulation support and fire containment performance. Designed with a more robust gauge steel than the original Thermafiber® Impasse® Hangers, the 2.0 system simplifies installation, requiring fewer wall penetrations. Ideal for high-performance curtain wall systems, the 2.0 hangers provide reinforcement to zero spandrel or short spandrel conditions.

Performance Attributes

Impasse® 2.0 Hangers are part of the Thermafiber® Impasse® Zero Spandrel System and are designed to simplify perimeter fire containment system installation in zero spandrel conditions as compared to other available zero spandrel systems. This system uses fewer attachment points and doesn’t require a backer or reinforcement bar, which helps reduce the number of installation steps as compared to other available zero spandrel systems.

Applications

Thermafiber® Impasse® 2.0 Hangers and insulation washers are used in commercial walls as part of perimeter fire containment systems. These components are designed to securely hold mineral wool insulation in place, where maintaining fire resistance is crucial. In zero spandrel designs, Impasse® 2.0 Hangers support the Firespan 120 spandrel insulation and provide backer/reinforcement within the system without the need for a backer/reinforcement member.
