Owens Corning building state-of-the-art fiberglass line
In September 2025, Owens Corning announced it has started construction on a new fiberglass insulation line at its manufacturing facility in Kansas City, KS.
“This news represents Owens Corning’s commitment to the Kansas City community and the North America fiberglass market,” said Jose Canovas, president of insulation at Owens Corning. "The leadership and collaboration of our people alongside our local partners played a crucial role in making this milestone a reality. We look forward to the positive impact this development will have on our community, employees, and customers.”
“Owens Corning’s decision to expand its current operation and launch a new production line from its Kansas City facility represents a vote of confidence in our state’s business environment — which includes our workforce, infrastructure, and capacity to further economic growth,” Governor Laura Kelly said. “We will continue supporting outstanding companies that invest in Kansas talent and help move our entire state forward.”
This investment will enable Owens Corning to strengthen its market-leading position by continuing to develop its cost-effective U.S. fiberglass insulation network. The capacity, which will come online in 2027, offers versatility through non-residential and residential fiberglass production capabilities. The asset’s state-of-the-art technology will enhance product quality and consistency and includes best-in-class environmental controls for energy efficiency, carbon emissions reductions, and minimal waste-to-landfill.
At a groundbreaking event to announce the new line, Owens Corning Foundation awarded a grant donation to Hope Faith Ministries, Inc., a nonprofit that works to alleviate homelessness and poverty in the local community.
Following the groundbreaking, the company held an employee celebration, where employees and their families engaged in a volunteer effort to pack more than 1,000 hygiene kits and backpacks to be donated to various local charities.
