4. The surface burning characteristics of these products have been determined in accordance with ASTM E 84. This standard should be used to measure and describe the properties of materials, products or assemblies in response to heat and flame under controlled laboratory conditions and should not be used to describe or appraise the fire hazard or fire risk of materials, products or assemblies under actual fire conditions. However, results of this test may be used as elements of a fire risk assessment which takes into account all of the factors which are pertinent to an assessment of the fire hazard of a particular end use. Values are reported to the nearest 5 rating.

Applications

SOFTR® Duct Wrap FRK is a fiberglass duct wrap insulation designed to wrap around air ducts and related equipment in both residential and commercial buildings. It helps maintain the desired air temperature as heated or cooled air moves through duct systems, acting as an effective HVAC insulation wrap in spaces like attics, basements, and mechanical rooms.

This glass fiber insulation is suitable for a range of HVAC and mechanical applications, including supply and return ductwork; duct fittings such as elbows, takeoffs, reducers, and boots; and equipment surfaces such as air handling units, air handling plenums, metal mixing boxes, and mechanical cabinets. When installed properly, this fiberglass duct wrap delivers the expected insulation performance (R-value). This insulation helps prevent condensation from forming on ducts and equipment, improving energy efficiency and reducing the risk of moisture-related issues.
