Owens Corning offers a range of programs aimed at fostering the next generation of professionals, and those looking for a change in career direction. The company’s internships, co-op opportunities, and development programs provide individuals with practical experience, professional development, and the chance to build significant industry connections.

In 2025, the early career team at Owens Corning was named as a Campus Forward Best in Class Award winner. This award recognizes overall excellence in Recruitment Strategy, Tech Innovation, Candidate Experience, Inclusive Culture and Internship Programing.

Internships and Co-op Programs

Owens Corning's internship and co-op programs are structured to immerse students across company businesses and functions. These programs provide an introduction to the building products industry, and they allow participants to engage in meaningful projects and contribute to the company's operations. Interns and co-op students are given opportunities to work on high-impact projects, fostering both personal and professional growth.

For more than a decade, summer at Owens Corning has meant a new group of talented interns become trusted colleagues from May through August. In the United States alone in 2025, Owens Corning welcomed 113 interns, 55 of whom worked at the Toledo world headquarters, and 58 at company plants and within research and development.

A similar-sized group is expected to participate in 2026.

Owens Corning’s internships help the company develop its exceptional talent pipeline and showcase what makes the company a great place to work.

"Interns bring fresh ideas and diverse perspectives to our organization,” said Mandy Metcalf, human resources leader. “We are grateful for the significant impact they can make in a short amount of time."

The paid internships are located at Owens Corning World Headquarters in Toledo, OH and at various facilities across several functional areas: Environmental, Health & Safety, Finance & Accounting, Human Resources, Information Services, Manufacturing Engineering, Sales, Science & Technology, Strategic Marketing, Supply Chain & Sourcing. Paid co-ops are located at one of our various facilities and are specific to Manufacturing Engineering.

Development Programs

The company's development programs are tailored for individuals eager to advance their careers. Participants in these programs can expect accelerated professional development, gaining experience across various segments of the business. The aim is to cultivate leadership skills and prepare participants for future roles of increasing impact within the company. These programs offer a unique opportunity to grow and advance within a building products leader.

Employees can take part in of one of nine rotational development programs, each designed to build functional expertise across Operations, Sales, Supply Chain, and other key areas. Participants spend 18 months to three years gaining hands-on experience through role rotations, enabling them to develop a broad business perspective and accelerate their readiness for leadership roles.

As part of the program, more than 130 professionals across several of the development programs gather at Owens Corning’s world headquarters in Toledo, Ohio, for a week each year. This annual conference cultivates future leaders through structured learning, cross-functional collaboration, and community impact.
