Performance Attributes

Thermafiber® FireLedge® supports easy installation by removing the need for a backer bar, which is a metal support piece that typically adds time and materials to curtain wall construction. This fire-resistant mineral wool insulation also allows for thicker insulation to be placed in the space between floors behind the wall panels (called the spandrel area). This mineral wool curtain wall insulation helps improve energy efficiency and maintain comfortable indoor temperatures by increasing the wall’s ability to hold in heat or cool air.

Thermafiber® FireLedge® is fire-resistant insulation used in commercial curtain wall systems to help slow the spread of fire between floors in buildings. It is ideal for commercial wall insulation in high-rise offices, hospitals, schools, and mixed-use buildings where perimeter fire containment is required.
