Owens Corning is introducing a formaldehyde-free binder in QuietR® Rotary Duct Liner products. This change supports our sustainability goals and evolving building standards—without compromising performance.

Yes. The FF product delivers the same outstanding thermal and acoustic performance, packaging, and installation characteristics as our current phenolic products. It also meets all UL and GREENGUARD® Gold certifications.

Absolutely. The FF product is designed to help you comply with evolving regulations and win projects requiring formaldehyde-free materials.

Shipments will begin in the first half of 2026, giving you time to plan and adjust inventory. Initially, you may see phenolic product and FF product filling your orders while Owens Corning completely converts the inventory to only FF. Your Owens Corning representative can confirm availability for your region.

Yes. Both formulations are certified for Rotary Duct Liner installations and can be used together in the same project.

No. Lead times, load factors, and ordering processes remain the same. The FF product ships from the same facilities as current products.

Yes. Our phenolic products meet all safety and SDS/SUIS requirements and remain available for ordering.

Phenolic products remain available for now. Owens Corning will communicate any future changes well in advance.

No. The installation process and tools remain the same—no learning curve.

During the transition, FF products will feature an additional yellow label for easy identification. The SKU numbers will be different for the FF products, and the label will have an “M” denoting it is Owens Corning’s new FF formulation. All other label information remains unchanged.

We’re excited to transition to 100% formaldehyde-free products, and as part of this process, exchanges of phenolic products for FF products won’t be available. We recommend using your current inventory as planned, and your Owens Corning representative can help you prepare for the switch.

No—there is no price increase with the transition to the FF product. Our goal is to provide a formaldehyde-free solution that delivers added value without creating a cost impact for you.

The FF product has undergone two years of internal and external testing and meets all required certifications. It performs to the same standards as our current phenolic product.
