Continuous Insulation

STANDOUT PERFORMANCE DESIGNED TO BLEND IN

Owens Corning® Thermafiber® RainBarrier® Dark™* continuous insulation semi-rigid products are produced with a bonded black facing that is designed for exceptional performance in rainscreen and cavity wall construction applications. Thermafiber® RainBarrier® Dark™ is the same continuous insulation you have come to know and trust from Owens Corning® Thermafiber® but offers camouflaging behind open-joint facade systems and eliminates the material and installation costs associated with an additional masking layer. Thermafiber® RainBarrier® Dark™ insulation provides thermal control, fire-resistive characteristics, acoustical control, and the ability to drain water from a wall cavity. All Thermafiber® RainBarrier® products are non-combustible, vapour permeable, and are easy to fabricate and install.

*Latest RainBarrier® products combine the benefits of RainBarrier® 45 and RainBarrier® HD as of April 2024.

Installation

Thermafiber, Inc. recommends mechanical attachment of Thermafiber® RainBarrier® insulation products. See Owens Corning publication “Thermafiber® RainBarrier® Insulation Guide - Canada” (Pub. No. 600060) for more information. The types of fastener, method, and frequency are to be determined by the installer for the specificity of the project and approved by the project design team.

Certifications and Sustainable Features

  • Verified by ICC-ES to contain a minimum of 70% recycled content. See ICC-ES Evaluation Report VAR-1025 at icc-es.org. Recycled Content pertains to insulation only.
  • Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) has been certified by UL Environment. For more information, visit ul.com/epd.
